The Mpumalanga Kay Motsepe Provincial Finals were held on Saturday 20 August 2016 at the Rob Ferreira High School in White River. The Provincial Finals were contested by 3 schools Bondzeni Secondary School(Bohlabela Region), Sikhulile Secondary (Nkangala Region), and Thobelani Secondary (Gert Sibande Region). St Marks were disqualified from participating for misconduct.
Bondzeni Secondary School were crowned champions for the 2016 Mpumalanga Provincial Finals after overcoming Thobelani and Sikhulile Secondary in a round robin format played. Bondzeni Secondary and Sikhulile Secondary will now represent the Mpumalanga Province in the Kay Motsepe Schools Cup National Finals to be held in Gauteng on 03 – 08 October 2016.
