Mainstay United are well on course to clinch Stream A title in the Northern Cape ABC Motsepe League while the race for top spot in Stream B will most likely be decided on the last round of fixtures with just a point separating Young Stars FC from second placed Colville United.
Mainstay have all but secured top spot in Stream A, although their 1-1 draw with Kakamas Juventus at the Robert Gunda Stadium on Saturday means they have to put their champaign on ice for at least another week with Rasta Fa Eagles still having a mathematical chance of finishing top.
Second placed Eagles were in rampant form over the weekend as they dismantled already-relegated NE Celtics 15-0 at the Newton Stadium on Saturday. They now sit in second, separated by five points behind Mainstay with a game in hand.
Elsewhere in stream A, Morester Jeug and Olympics played out a 1-1 draw while Kakamas Sundowns recorded a 2-1 win over Hungry Lions.
The relegation picture is a bit clearer with Juventus already relegated to the SAB League as they sit rock bottom, five points adrift of Olifantshoek Young Stars FC with just a match remaining.
Saturday’s other fixtures saw Olifantshoek share the spoils with NC Liverpool in a 2-2 draw while Young Pirates ended Kuruman Kicks’ slim title hopes with a 2-0 win at Batlharos Stadium.
